The Seattle Seahawks first NFL season was 1976 ... with the team going 2-12 and finishing 5th in the NFC West under coach Jack Patera.

The Seahawks joined the NFL in 1976. They started with the National Football Conference and then were switched to the American Football Conference in 1977 where they remained until 2001. Then with reorgranization, they are now back in the National Football Conference.

Hopefully, their first visit to the Superbowl will also be their first win there!
