When the AFC and NFC merged into the NFL, which three NFC Teams went over to the AFC to even things out?

It was the AFL and NFL that merged; and the three teams that were paid $1,000,000 each to move were:

1. Pittsburgh Steelers
2. Cleveland Browns
3. Baltimore Colts

The Seahawks did not exist at the time of the merger (circa 1970)

Pittsburg steelers
Seattle seahawks
Cleveland browns

It was Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Baltimore. Someone said Seattle but Seattle came in as an expansion team to the AFC and recently moved to NFC

the seahawk answerer is wrong..the others are correct..the seahawks didn't join the nfc until the nfl went to 32 teams...

Seattle actually joined the NFC first in 1976 (when the league added them and Tampa Bay together), being placed in the NFC West. The Seahawks moved to the AFC West in 1977 (both teams' schedules for the first two years had them playing everyone in their conference once, and each other) and stayed there until 2002, when they moved to the NFC West again.
