Easy the 1985 Chicago Bears. They still hold the records for shutting out both teams they played in the Divisional and Conference games - no one has done so since or before. And they are the only team to hold their opponent to negative TOTAL offensive yardage in the first half of the Super Bowl. Doubt that record will ever be broken.

Also - look at the quality of teams the Dolphins played in 72. Not to mention they played less games that year.

The 1992 Cowboys are probably the only team that could have slayed the Dolphins of 72'... What about the 1995 49ers, they smashed the Chargers in the Super Bowl that year 49-26

I'd certainly have to say the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers would have to be included in the discussion. It could be fairly argued that no team ever played better down the stretch when it counted most. To enter the playoffs as the lowest seed & to then defeat the 1, 2, and 3rd seeded teams to reach the Super Bowl & to then defeat the top seeded NFC team....hard to beat that.

Personally I think that the 2003 TB Bucs, not only because they are my all time favorite NFL team, but also because no one ever imagined it would be them. Everyone was against the Bucs from the start, and they straight up murdered the Raiders (48-21). The game was over before it even started, it was in the Bucs favor. It took them 27 games to win one, and there 27th year as a NFL team was there year to shine. Plus as the saying goes "Defense wins the Game" and that year the Bucs had the defense, to win it all.

The 88 -89 49ers were the most balanced/talented team ever, however the 85 Bears defense was soooo dominant that they would beat any team ever created 8 days a week.

The STEELERS of the '70s no doubt about it.

It is simple... The San Fransisco 49ers from the 80's 90's and today... All I can say is 5 count them 5 Super bowl Trophies...
