Broncos champ Bailey best corner, John Lynch best free safety
best line and good line backers
Ravens best middle line backer
Patriots good line backers and good corner
Chargers good safety and nice linemen
Packers good linemen 1. Bears
2.Broncos
3. Eagles
4. Steelers
5. Ravens 1: Baltimore Ravens
I dont know why, but when you think of Baltimore Ravens, two things come into mind, run and Defense. Their defense is just physical, in your face kind of defense, with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, two players arguably the best in their respective positions.
2: New England
New England has brought in great help for their defense, and it will be STINGY to say teh least. They have now Adalius Thomas, you mix that with Bruschi, Harrison and Samuels, Wilfork and Seymour, you got yourself a top rated D.
3: Denver Broncos
The donkeys have pretty much a solid defense, with their pass Defense the best in the NFL. Unless they get injured, QBs are gonna have their hands full with bailey and Bly. The interceptions are gonna rise very fast. Losing Al wilson will hurt, but they still got a solid LB core, with DJ Williams and Ian Gold. SS John Lynch might be losing a step or two, but he still hits like a truck. Makes WRs scared to go to the middle.
4: Jacksonville Jaguars
They have a great defense, very solid. Reggie Haywards back, and Bobby McCray can cause some problems in the back field. Mathis is one of todays most talented CBs and he will be a force this year. Reggie Nelson should have a good rookie year this year. Overall, this defense cant mesure up to the previous Defense that ive mentioned, but its solid.
4: Chicago Bears
They would be ranked higher had Briggs not become a whinner and threatened a hold-out. Briggs sub is Jamar Williams, so thats why I am a bit concerned about their defense this year. But Urlacher is still one of the leagues most feared Linebacker, and Nathan Vasher is as good as a CB than the next guy, so they are still staked. Adewale Ogunleye is a good pass-rusher with some explosiveness. Charles Tillman had 5 INT last year, the pass D should be respectable. Overall, as I said, they could be a top 3 defense if Briggs will stop whinning, or if the Bears can get some replacement for him.
Those are my top 5, hope you like them 1. Chargers
2.Ravens
3.Broncos
4.Bears
5.Vikings ravens
chicago
new england
san deigo
minnesota
ravens are extremly athletic and just so good
chicago can make plays
new england is just mean and solid
san diego is a pretty mean defense too
they make it hard to do anything
minnesota is my shcoker just becausee their run defense is disgustingly good
and this year they will do better against the pass 1. Baltimore - Adalius Thomas or not, this defense is set.
2. Chicago - Some losses...but as long as they have Urlacher, they're good
3. San Diego - Best pass rush in the NFL from all over the place, secondary is alright too.
4. Denver - Working on the DL...their secondary is stacked
5. Pittsburgh - They keep building onto that defense. It lost Porter, but I'm sure somebody will step up
6. Carolina - DL is great, line backers are deep and fast. Corners are all great, just need somebody to step up at strong safety.
7. Dallas - Give their secondary a kick in the *** and they'll be better. The front seven are solid as can be.
I had to include the last two because the NFC needed more love... Ravens- They lose key players and still find a way to have a great defense.
Raiders- If they had a good offense last year they would have a been a playoff team. Their defense is stellar.
Jaguars- Good front 4 and solid defensive backs.
Bears- Good defense all around.
Dolphins- Good linebacking corps and the reigning defensive player of the year Jason Taylor. well im too lazy to tell u why so, heres my list
1. Denver Broncos
2. Baltimore Ravens
3. Chicago Bears
4. San Diego Chargers
5. New England Patriots 1. Baltimore - they have studs at every position, they're lights out, and they score like a TD every game along with at least 2-3 TO.
2. Chicago - They've got an excellent front 7, led by Urlacher. And they're secondary is pretty good.
3. San Diego - They have a strong LB crew with Merriman and they get tons of pressure on the QB, which forces TOs.
4. New England - They're coached by Bill Belicheck. Need I say more?
5. Pittsburgh - They get a ton of pressure on the QB, which forces TOs. They have a huuge run stuffing NT up the middle. And Polamalu leads the secondary. 1) Chicago - even if Briggs doesn't play that defense is the best overall.
2) Baltimore- It's odd but with only 2 allpros they are still elite.
3)Denver- It should be Cleveland with all the players they let go to the Broncos last year or 2 ago.
4)Miami- Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas enough said
5) New England- I don't know how but here they are 1. San Diego- The Best Pass Rush in the league, they will be even better this year as Merriman will play all 16 games.
2. Baltimore- Ray Lewis & Ed Reed, need I say more.
3. Jacksonville- The numbers don't lie, they are very well balanced and consistent.
4. Denver- Champ Bailey is the best CB in the game, if they found a way to keep Al WIlson, I would have rated them #3
5. Chicago- I'm not really sure they even deserve to be on this list but you have at least one team from the minor leagues (NFC). 1. New England
great smart, diciplined veteran linebackers, great safeties harrison wilson merriweather hawkins and sanders, great corner and ok second corner. best d-line all could be pro bowlers i.e seymour, warren, wilfork all studs.
2. Baltimore
great corners/safeties amazing linebackers and ok line but loss of A.Thomas has to hurt.
3. Jacksonville
awesome d-line, great linebackers and great corner on verge of greatness in rashean mathis, could be higher but they have no safeties.
4. Denver
great corners and safeties but line has been a joke past couple of seasons and only 1 good lb in dj williams who is a stud.
5. San Diego
great linebackers and d-line but ???marks in the secondary but paul oliver helps and quentin jammer is a good #2 corner but not a #1 like he is now. 1. Baltimore Ravens
-Lead the league in sacks last year
-Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are consistently high level performers
-Have 10 of 11 starters returning from last year, and they won the division
2. Denver Broncos
-Over the last 10 years, Champ Bailey has the most interceptions among corners, Dre Bly has the third most among corners
-Denver's nickelback, Domonique Foxworth, has starting experience at both corner and safety and a handful of interceptions, despite entering the third year of his career, giving Denver perhaps the most dangerous top three corners in the league, not just top two
-Denver's defensive line is bigger and more aggressive than it has been in several years
-Two pro-bowl caliber linebackers in Ian Gold on the outside and D.J. Williams, who is moving into the middle
3. San Diego
-Very scary front seven, lead by Shaun Merriman (even though he cheated and used steroids)
-Decent defensive backfield featuring Drayton Florence, who should be a star, and Quentin Jammer, who is physical
4. Patriots
-As long as they have Bill Belicheck running things, their defense will be in the top ten
-Acquired Adalius Thomas, giving them three terrific pass rushers if you include Ty Warren and Richard Seymour
-Tedy Bruschi, Mark Vrabel, and Roosevelt Colvin are all great backers
-Only concerns are the age of the defense, and why isn't Asante Samuel getting a new contract? He only came off of a Champ Bailey-esque season!
5. Philedelphia Eagles, though I strongly thought about putting Dallas or Chicago in this spot
-Have 3 Pro Bowlers in the secondary, Brian Dawkins, Lito Sheppard, and Sheldon Brown
-Takeo Spikes and Jeremiah Trotter at LB, are you kidding me?
-Solid D-Line core has five people who could start, though Montae Raegor is a backup 1. bears
2. ravens
3. eagles
4. chargers
5. jags 1. Denver Broncos
2. Chicago Bears
3. Baltimore Ravens
4. Oaklan Raiders
5. San Diego Chargers
