| Chargers Fans: Phillips > Foley? |

If/when Steve Foley returns to football, do you think Shaun Phillips should retain the starting position? He's got youth and speed on Foley, and you only loose those things as time goes on, but you gain experience (ie: Shaun has speed/youth and can get more experience, Steve has experience but is lacking/will-loose the other part). The guy wears less pads just to be faster for gosh sakes. I think he's proven himself to be the starting ROLB, and a great compliment to Lights Out. smarter how? you provide little case (especially as he is the one being brought on charges, not Phillips) |

no you put foley back as a starter because he is smarter but i dont think he will return b/c he cant even stand by him self also i would like to add foley is a big dude and if his blood alchol level was 2 times high it dosent mean any thing because he is a athletic dude so it was not like he was pissy drunk and the cop should go to jail |

It will be a miracle of Steve Foley returns to football; however if that miracle occurs then there is no way Shaun Phillips will lose the starting spot. The way Phillips is playing he keeps his starter position. Foley won't be back this year and you never know what AJ might do in the off-season. Maybe they would move him inside to fill Godfrey's (retirement) or Edwards (let go, traded) spot next year. Do I believe Foley will get the starting spot back? Foley is done with football. He's a veteran linebacker who wouldn't have had too many seasons left in him anyway. IF he does come back, and that's a big if, They will probably have him split time with Phillips, kinda like they did before. Foley is very good at stopping the run. If I have one complaint about Phillips it's that he's not always around the ball on running plays, he's a great pass rusher, but several times I've seen him get over-zealous and get blocked out the back of a running play. For that reason, I think they would have them split time, bring Phillips in on obvious passing downs. Phillips is getting better every game though. |
