How do I teach basic blocking tecniques to 10-11 year old youth football players?

We are toying with the idea of zone blocking, and I know enough to be dangerous. My job is coaching the line.

I like the idea of double-teaming on the playside. How do we teach the kids to know who slides off to get the backer? What happens on the back side of the play? Is the center left to fend for himself in the case of a 5-3 and a nose man?

Should I bag this and go back to a man blocking scheme?

Help?

Thanks.

lol good question... i think its too hard to teach that to 10-12 year olds, i mean i play high school football right now and we got players who are confused as hell by the zone lol its kind of sad..... I myself played the line last year as JV and we really didn't do much with zone D as a line. bag it and go to a mam blocking

yeah big e is right i say teach them man on man blocking it the fundamentals of football. zone is hard even on the back because the hole isnt determined it comes to u. so i say man on man let them have fun it wasting time tryin to teach them teach man on man.

No zone till high school. 10 to 12 year olds haven't mastered their own bodies yet. Teach fundamentals and drill.
