| How many yards will Willis McGahee run for this year? |

Peter King of ESPN predicts 1,700 yards! |

1,700 is pretty high no matter how you look at it. But I see a bunch of people here who don't know what they're talking about. There is no "QB tandem" in Buffalo. JP Losman is unequivocally the starter, and his play thus far in the preseason(sporting a 87.0 QB rating and 64.9% completion percentage) has decided that. His TD passes have been on deep passes but he has shown consistency throwing underneath. The oline has also played vastly better than last year. Defenses won't be able to put 8 guys in the box without getting burned badly. 1,500+ is very likely.. |

I think 1200 yards is more realistic. Those ESPN "experts" are just sort of dumb. How many yards did he run for last season? I wouldn't guess many more yards than that. That's like people saying "Oh well LJ started 9 games and had 1750 yards, if he starts 3,111 yards in 16 games" (I did math avg x 16 games) We all know he wont do that. Even to say he'll get like 2,100 is pushing it a little bit, but it is possible. McGahee for 1,700? I'll believe it when I see it. 1,000-1,200 With that OL and poor QB play I would say about 1,100 yards and 6-8 TD's. Definetly over 1000, I'd say like 1,100-1,200. He has basically no passing game so it will be hard for him to get 1,700. 1700 yards is pretty high, especially with the QB tandem of Kelly Holcomb and J.P. Losman. A lot of defenses will probably key on McGahee and make the passing game beat them, and with Peerless Price and Lee Evans as your targets, that's going to knock McGahee's numbers down. He had 1250 last year; I'd go with 1100 this year. |
