| Why was John Madden inducted in the Hall of Fame if he only won one championship? |
John Grudden also only won one championship, but I doubt that he will be int he Hall of Fame too. |
Madden had an excellent winning percentage from 1969-1978 |

For the same reason Dan Marino got in and no championship The Football Hall of Fame wanted to be on the All Madden team. Suckups. Because John Madden has the highest career winning percentage of any coach in NFL history (100 games coached minimum). Because regarding coaches that have 100 wins or more he had the highest winning percentage of any coach in NFL history, plus he won a SuperBowl with the Raiders. Name one guy, who has done more, to promote the game of Football, especially with young kids and teen, through the EA Sports Madden games. Because he says BOOM and BANG! and draws on the screen better then anyone else! Madden was an amazing coach who turned an unruly group of men into a team- a team that one a championship, and that started making records, hence a name for themselves. Put his age at the time into that- it was awesome to see. He was supposed to be inducted the year after he retired (age 41) but the Hall of Fame committee always thought he would return to coaching and they didn't want a HoF coach out on the field. Besides now is a great time for it to happen, his name is football. Plus he should get points for a kick *** game! :) Because everyone likes John Madden. Brett Favre is pretty much undoubtedly in the HOF right away because everyone loves the guy. He had...like 13 straight winning seasons and only one championship...that's rather impressive still...but it's because people like him so much along with what he's done for the NFL. Tom Brady will be the same way...yeah three super bowls at the beginning of his career, but also that the guy is a like-able guy...Talent seems like a #2 for the HOF....I wouldn't be suprised if T.O. never makes it because of that. His numbers are there, his talent is there, but people don't like him. Because of his fame connected to football. He is in because he's fat, hilarious and a damn good coach... Also Marriucci pointed out in an interview that almost a good portion of his games have names ex. Immaculate Reception, Holy Roller, Ghost to the Post, and Sea of Hands Because he was one of the best coach in the NFL. Madden was a very successful coach who had a ten year career without a losing season. He had a great team in a decade of immortal teams. His Raiders had to contend with the Dolphins of the early 1970's and as the Dolphins came back to earth a little, the Steelers ascended to become football's immortal team. The Raiders essentially ended the Dolphins dynasty in that great 28-26 playoff win in Oakland. They beat the Steelers on their way to Madden's only Super Bowl win. They should have played Dallas in Super Bowl XII, but the officials blew a crucial call in the AFC Championship Game against Denver. These answers are all right. I can't stand the guy, he gets on my last nerve. But he has still earned his place in the hall of fame. same reason he has his own game he is a football genius! you know that saying about an unstoppable force hitting an imvoeable object? GENIUS! One championship is more than 85% of all other head coaches, and Madden has the highest winning percentage of any head coach for a minimum of 100 games. His winning percentage is like .730 or something like that. Trust me, I'm no John Madden fan. In fact, I think he says more pointless comments during NFL games as his analyst career progresses. However, that doesn't mean the guy doesn't deserve the Hall Of Fame. For those who weren't around during the Madden era, he was an extremely good coach who perfected plays in his era. First off, Jon Gruden's career is far from over and he may yet win more titles. Secondly John Madden had the 2nd highest winning pct among NFL coaches who coached at least 10 years, 2nd only to Vince Lombardi. I think he belongs in the Hall. Because he won 100+ games in 10 years. Not very many coaches have done that. Plus, he had the best post season record ever among coaches with at least 10 playoff appearances. Are you seriously asking this question? Do you not know anything about football? Madden also got in the HOF because of his contributions to the NFL. There are also announcers in the HOF. |
