They just elected Michael Irvin into the Football Hall of Fame. Yet, ONCE AGAIN, Art Monk is left out!!!

jeez i hate michael irvin. he was a great WR but he always got into trouble and does stupid $h!t and he sucks as an NFL analyst and they reward him by letting him into the hall? this is bull.

Monk was very good but was not the game changer Irvin was. Only thing he has over Irvin is longevity

Irvin had better stats. He caught more passes in a season and caught more TDs in a season, consistently, than did Art Monk.

They both belong in the Hall of Fame, but if I had to choose just one I'd choose Irvin. He had 11950 yards is just 159 over 12 seasons, and remember he missed 16 games due to injury in his first four seasons, and 5 due to the suspension in 96', and then the last 12 of his final season. Monk on the other hand 12721 yards in 224 games over 16 seasons. Do the math and Irvin averaged 75.2 yards per game, while Monk averaged 56.8. Also Irvin made big plays in big games. He's second all time in receiving yards and receptions in postseason behind you know who(Jerry Rice). Irvin made the big plays in playoff games than Monk. He was also the emotion leader of the 90's Cowboys, and should've made it to the hall before Aikman.

Honestly, I think they both deserved to get in. Both were great players on great teams that did great things. They both had great stats, and just about anyone who knows football knows who they are. It's just a trend the election comittee has set to snub players. They only allow so many candidates in each year. It's not always about picking the best players so much as it is picking who's popular at the time. Both Troy Aikman and Emmit Smith have bashed the committee for snubbing Irvin, so he had support that support in his favor this year.

Art Monk is one of the greatest recievers of all time, and yet they refuse to let him in. I know Irvin was probably better (not by much), but Monk should be in Canton. I guess this means that Marvin Harrison won't be allowed in the NFL HOF either, right?

Because the people picking are morons. I can't believe that Art Monk still isn't it. He probably won't get in even though he DESERVES to be. What can you do about morons though.

The reason Irvin made it before Monk? Monk was a total jack-*** to the media and fans. Irvin had off field problems and his numbers weren't as good as Monks (only because Monk played longer). He'll get in next year you watch.
