I am a cowboys fan but as far as I can remember his biggest part in those games was turning around and handing the ball to Emmitt or throwing a short slant to Irvin. Any game that they needed him to make the play it seemed he would take a big sack or throw an interception. Maybe I am being too hard on him. He was a very solid QB but I just never thought he was Hall of Fame caliber.

You'll never see a Qb in the nfl with three superbowl titles in what, 4 years, and not be a hall of famer. Emmitt was a Blessing, thats for sure, but you still need a leader that the team believes in and makes them believe in themselves and sets and example of how to be a winner in the league. Troy wasn't a vocal leader, he led by example. He threw for almost 33,000 yards. played hurt, 165 tds. He never had one season where he played fewer than 11 games. He was a leader for that team.

Well, he won 3 Super Bowls. He put up pretty good stats despite playing with Emmitt Smith, the NFL all-time leading rusher, in a run-first offense where Aikman did not get the chance to throw as much as some QBs. He won a lot of games and usually didn't screw things up for the Cowboys. he helped out as a leader, and without him, the Cowboys no doubt would never have been as successful.

While his stats are not as good as some other HoFers, they were good enough and he won enough to make it to Canton. Whenever a QB wins 3 SBs as the starter he deserves to be in the Hall, because no amount of talent can win 3 SBs in 4 years without a great QB.
