| Would Tiki Barber have made the Hall of Fame if he played another 3 or 4 seasons? |

The guy is a hero to us Giant fans, but i'm not sure if he'll make the Hall of Fame. |

He'll be or first or second ballot HOF inductee. I believe Ottis Anderson is the only eligible career 10,000 yard rusher to not be inducted. Add to that having over 5,000 career receiving yards, and he's got a pretty strong case. But his new NBC gig will be the clincher. HOF voters (made up exclusively of members of the sports media) seem to be more likely to vote for a candidate if they're either friendly to and/or a member of the sports media. |

He will definitely make it into the hall of fame. He never won the big one so that will hurt alot. When you think of the hall of fame you definately don't think Tiki Barber. The hall of fame is not about who can put up statistics its about great players. Dont think he would be considered on the same level as some of the great players. If he had played longer, he definitely would have. The way he just abruptly stopped this year... he is kinda iffy, but I would hope that he does - Tiki was a great player. Yes because he is the lead runback for the giants He will probably make it even though he retired this year I think he would if he kept playing at a high level. He may still make it anyway. The guy was a stud. I think he still has a shot at it. He has borderline HoF numbers (a career average of about 100 total yards/game and a TD every-other game), but what's going to be Giant for him (I couldn't resist) is his nice-guy image as well as the fact that he's going into broadcasting. He's still no Marshall Faulk, though. Another season or two of 1500+ yards and a few TDs definitely would have made him more attractive as a choice, though. I am pretty sure he will still make the Hall of Fame. He is in the top-ten in multi-purpose yards. And he has made a lasting effect on the NFL style of play. He had the heart. Tiki, WILL be a Hall of Famer with the numbers that he compiled in his career. Yes, he probably has a good 4-5 years left, but you can't blame the guy for wanting to lead a normal, healthy life after football. Tiki--Class of 2011 Ya, he would make it. Probably not as 10,000 yards rushing isn't much by todays standard. There are about 7 guys in the league right now who are approaching or already past 10K. Heck, Art Monk can't even get in the HOF even though he set many league records and won 3 Super Bowls, not sure how Tiki will get in before Corey Dillion even. However, 1-2 more 1000 yards seasons would have been enough to make Tiki a sure-fire HOFer. Tiki will make it anyway!! 7th all time in rushing yardage. Maybe not right away but he will eventually get in. Class act and played in the media capital of the world. Two big plus factors!! Tiki only really had 2-3 great seasons in New York. If he could have added 2-3 more great seasons (2,000+ all purpose yards) he would have had a great chance to get there. he will make the hall of fame Not necessarily because you don't know if he would've broken down next year. I think that leaving at the top of his game leaves a lasting image of him. Compare that to the image you have of Curtis Martin. Granted, there's no comparison, Martin is the #3 all-time leading rusher (Barber is #17 I believe). But Martin had an injury-plagued 2005 and never got on the field in '06. Meanwhile, Barber's last regular season game was a career game, over 220 yards. Add to that, the receiving yards...I think he has a good shot. He'll still make it. Good stats.......good on and off the field. It would have helped him ALOT. Having a better QB that could have got them to the Superbowl would have helped a lot too. I don't think he could have played that long though. If Tiki played for another few seasons he would have made a stronger case for his bid to the Hall of Fame. As of right now I think he still can get in, but he will have to wait a few years(maybe). Barber is only one of three players with over 10,000 yards rushing and 5,000 yards receiving for his career. The are only two other players in NFL history to put up those numbers, and they Marcus Allen and Marshall Faulk. I think Tiki has a shot. Doubtful unless something mystical happened in that time. Yes he would, but he will still make it. It will take alot longer because he is coming out too early. Look how long it took Lien Swann, and he play for only four years. Now it may not take as long as that, but it will take a while |
