BROWNS + 9 MEANS THE OTHER TEAM IS FAVORED BY 9
BROWNS - 9 MEANS THE BROWNS ARE FAVORED BY 9
SOMETIMES YOU WILL SEE BROWNS+9 34..THIS MEANS THE OVER-UNDER IS 34. USUALLY, THE HOME TEAM IS IN ALL CAPS OR BOLD TYPE.

IF THE LINE IS 9 AND YOU BET ON THE FAVORITE, YOU MUST WIN BY TEN TO WIN THE BET.

THE OVER-UNDER IS THE TOTAL NUMBER OF POINTS SCORED BY BOTH TEAMS.

Basically if the team has a negative symbol ( ex: -7 ) It means they are favored by that many points. They have to win by 8 points or more to "cover the spread" If they only win by 3 or 6 then they lose the spread. On the other hand the other team with the plus symbol means they are under dogs by 7 ( +7 ) . This means they are given 7 points as a handicap for the final outcome of the game. You decide if you go with giving 7 (-7) and they cover or you think they wont cover then you "take the points" +7.
