| What the odds were that Devin Hester would return the opening kick in Super Bowl XLI (before the coin toss)? |

do you mean the betting odds? im not sure what the questin was. but all i know is when i saw this, i thought of Guin Jr taking the kickoff all the way in the national championship and then got blown out.....doesnt seem to be a good sign these days. |

I was not surpised that he did run one back because he has been running kickoffs and punts all year long for the bears. I know the only way the bears has a chance to win was if Hester ran one back or gave the bears good field position and he did not do that besides run one back and thats one of the resaon the bears lost the game other than Rex Grossman choking. Hester returned 6 kicks/ punts/ missed feild goals for touchdowns this year, before the superbowl. He had 68 total attempts. That leaves the ods at 6/68, or 8.8%.I called the first return in the superbowl to be a kickback return by devin hester, if the bears received. Now what's the chances of him running it back AND me calling it? This act reminded me of the BCS national championship where Tedd Ginn Jr. ran it back the opening kick for a touchdown, and never received the ball the rest of the game from a kick or punt, just like Devin Hester. And the similar thing is that the result of the game was the same, the opposite team won. Now if Hester or Ginn would have got the ball more (kicks or punts), i think Ohio State or the Bears would have won. Zero, you can't return a kickoff before the coin toss. 25-1 They would have been freakin astronomical. Anyone can get a big return, and quite a few go all the way, but it is a rare talent to see someone do it consistently, even after other teams know he can do it. I took the 20/1 Yahoo!!!!! |
