ben roethlisberger to play good............. go steelers Start Playing Football again and Adapt to their new coach's style. BIG STEELERS FAN RIGHT HERE MAN, AND I HATE THE FACT THAT WE WILL NO LONGER SEE THE CHIN IN THE SIDELINES THIS FALL, NO COACH WILL MATCH HIS INTENSITY AND FIRE HIS TEAM UP, but to go to the superbowl and win title 6, well first of all we need
a dominant running game, smash mouth football, thats our style,
a healthy confident BIG BEN,
A decent secondary, we have been getting burned the last couple years
DEFENSE+RUNNING THE BALL = BREAD N BUTTER
GO 陇STEELERS陇 getting porter back More powerful offense. With no bus and no wrs besides ward they dont have a deep threat. Ands ward isnt really that he is a possession wr. Ben is ok but he wont win it for you he has to get back to being a system qb and they need to surrond him with more talent, because that is the only way they can first off win the afc central, then take on the Pats, Colts, Chargers, and Broncos. this year? a miracle A miracle, they have lost so much in the past 2 years they won't break 8-8 this season.A new coach only aggravates that situation.......sorry 3rd place in the AFC central this year and maybe worse after that! QB and widerecievers better D
and they need jerome bettis oo yeah JUS PUT IT THIS WAY, THEY CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT THE BUS jpg-
It will take a lot. not a "Miracle" as some suggest, but it would take a lot. the biggest obstacle they have to overcome is adapting to a new coach. I don't work for Elias stats bureau, but i can tell you off the top of my head that the # of teams to win a SB with a 1st year coach is mighty small, if any. there is a growing period in which they must learn his style. and don't forget- they also lost their OC as well.
the player losses, the Steelers can handle. they've shown that in 15 years of salary cap era football, they've been able to replace players. Then again, the only coach they've seen in that era is Cowher.
TOmlin could do well- he has the vote of confidence of the players, and he certainly has ownership's support. with Ben being healthy this year, they have most of the pieces in place. as usual, we need a big turnout from our DB's. A healthy Polamalu and a better Ike at CB are necessary. I am not sold on Parker aas an every down back, but it seems Tomlin might want to spread the offense a little more, which will help Parker hit some outside seams. the next 2 years will REALLY tell the story of Ben's career. this year he is healthy, but adjusting to a new OC & HC. if he can do well this year, then next year he should have a great year. and if he truly think he can carry this offense on his arm (and he truly beleives that), he'll get his chance.
I say the Steelers return to the playoffs, but won't make the SB. It depends if the new coach can get the defense back to the power it was when they won the SB. Especially since they lost LB Porter.
Also, Big Ben will have to pull his head out of his a s s and play like he did 2 years ago.
I don't buy all that crap he never really healed, that's just a handy excuse, he really stunk it up last year. although I hate the steelers(i am a bengals fan) I can give you my thoughts.
SS: Since Joey Porter left their D is gonna need help. I say get a pretty good sized guy that can run and block.
LB: Their Linemen are great but the right flank is a little weak. Get someone big and fast.
QB: If Big Ben and the HC keep bickering Ben is bound to leave and the team would face a downfall.
That's all i got right now. a competent QB... not like the idiot they have in roethliesberger... and a smart coach and organization... hell.. they should dumb EVERYBODY besides a couple of the elite players they have and restart from scratch... organization and all.. a miracle. a new QB,CB,OLB,MLB,O-line,DE and Kicker o and some new wide outs wouldnt hurt either. The Rooney's will have to shell out the cash just like they did for SB XL.
----------------
for jmaximus12 - 3 of 41, so it is not impossible.
SB V - Don McCafferty/Colts
SB XXIV- George Seifert/49ers
SB XXXVII - Jon Gruden/Buccaneers
Several others have done it in their second season as well. An injury to Randy Moss.
Other than that, the Steelers can win a Super Bowl with improved play from their offensive line.
