What is/was the Steamboat Classic (football)?

There was (maybe still is) a football game for NAIA teams called the Steamboat Classic. Can anybody get me details on that and what teams played in the game in 1989?

The web is not much help here, I tried, but here's what I've been able to determine:

Iowa Wesleyan was one of the teams, with coach Hal Mumme. They played in the 89 and 90 game. Olivet Nazarene played in the 1990 game against them, with coach Dennis Roland. Iowa Wesleyan won the 1990 game, lost the 89 game.

The game has been referenced as a 'bowl' game, which of course would not seem to be open to playoff teams.

The Steamboat Classic is the name of a running event now. I'm interested in any history I can find on the one that was a football game. I doubt it's still played, or there'd be more on it. Any other details would be appreciated.

I have no clue try this website.

I'm having trouble finding anything about it on the web and I can't remember back that far. Give me a clue about the game please.
