| Who was better in their prime, Brett Favre, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning? |
Considering that Manning and Brady have probably hit their prime now... But as a QB in their prime who would you rather have in your team... Mine would be Favre for both his great arm and durability... |
I'd go with Favre. Although people say Brady has more rings, thats a team effort, not a one person accomplishment; also that defense and their "team" mentality was the real reason they won their championships. As far as Manning, he's a close second because of his statistics and great field awareness, but then again when you have All Pro receivers, a pro bowl offensive line and young but good back, chances are you cant screw up that situation THAT badly. |

I think Manning. Number wise, he'll be the best ever. Favre is great and so is Brady, but Manning is Marino with a Superbowl ring! Right now Farve but give the other two players some time to see if they break his records and achievements. yeah, statistically, manning is. then numbers dont lie Well that depends. I will go on results...Tom Brady. Plain simple three rings. :) As far as striking fear goes, I have to go with Manning. I am a Bears fan, and so Favre has beat us up on multiple occassions (something like 14 in a row), but I was never scared going against him. Brady-- no, I'm more afraid of the Pats defense. Favre is usually good for a couple interceptions along with his couple of TDs, so I knew that there would be mistakes that he could make. Brady, he was doing the job when there wasn't an offense around him. All three have been awesome QB's but I have to admire what Brady has done with lesser offensive weapons to help him. Farve. remember he is the only player ever to win three or more season MVPs. he as also won a super bowl ending the packer's 30 year drought. and anyone who can keep a starting job for 14 years must be pretty good. Well one could say Brady because of his rings, however I'm going with Farve. He didn't have the same kind of weapons over the years that Manning was blessed with, and Brady wouldn't have gotten 2 of the rings if (1) it wasn't for Bledsoe throwing the winning score against Pittsburgh after Brady was knocked from the game, and (2) the NO FUMBLE against Oakland. Well i guess if your o'line fails to protect ya, at least the refs are there to back you up, right? Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are still in their prime. I think this question will be answered in a few years when all the super bowl rings and MVP trophies are tallied up then we can make a decision. You say you would choose Brett Favre for his durability, but how many starts has Peyton Manning missed? That's right, none. Manning is more accurate and makes fewer mistakes than Brett Favre. Manning's arm is every bit as live as Favre's at anytime in his career. He kind of proves that you don't need to be a gunslinger to make big passing plays down field. Favre was great, but manning is better. Manning... hands down. I don't think we have seen him reach his plateau yet. As long as Indy continues to do a good job protecting him, you are probably looking at another 6-7 years of close to 4,000 yds and at least 25-30 TDs. Favre was great, don't get me wrong, but he couldn't make as many reads as Manning and he took a lot of chances. Brady is a product of an unbeliveable system. He is good yes, but not on the same level as Manning. Manning is the closest thing to a true QB, (they used to call all their own plays) and he can make any throw on the field, good touch short.... excellent long ball. I am not an Indy fan, but Manning is probably the best of all time. We'll see in about 5 more years. Not sure how Brady would lose 2 rings from Bledsoe's TD against the Steelers and the Tuck rule (a correctly applied ruling while Brady received a blow to the head) as they were the same year. I can eliminate Brett Favre, he is difinately third. No idea at all. With out a doubt, Tom Brady. Yeah Brady does not have the arm of Favre or Manning. He is my reasons for Brady. Favre and Manning each have a Super Bowl. Manning has the Super Bowl MVP. Brady has 3 Super Bowls and 2 Super Bowl MVPs. Both Favre and Manning have had better players around them. Name 5 other people on the Patriot teams that won Super Bowl other then Brady? Most likely you can't. Brett Favre is one of the most overrated figures in sports history!! His inability read defenses makes him more of a liability than an asset. As his physical skills have started to diminish, you can see it more now than ever. The only reason he was able to win a Super Bowl was because of the dominating defense that was able to make up for his mistakes. Proof? As he closes in on the all tme touchdown record, he has already passed the all time interception record!! He is a nice person, and a good quarterback. Nothing more. Brady would be my choice by the way. John Elway..He was the Michael Jordan of the NFL..Ask anyone in Houston. I have to go with Brett. He is my pick, because of his toughness and his comeback ability. Durability? And how many games have Brady and Manning missed theirselves? The Pats and Colts should save some cap money and cut all the backup QBs cuz their wasting a roster spot. I have to go with Brady due to the fact that he has fewer starts than Manning and Favre, but has more Super Bowl wins than both Manning and favre put together. Brady just knows how to win. Brett Favre - He's a durable, though not consistent QB. I like his arm, he can scramble, enough. Throws too many interceptions I'd have to go with T. Brady peytons numbers don't mean much. look at dan marino, you list him in your top 5? Brady is a haus, but favre took painkillers to play with a broken thumb. I heard that he got in a fight with chuck norris, and before snapping chuck's neck, chuck landed a roundhouse kick to favre's groin and knocked one of his balls off. We now refer to it as "Jupiter". enough said. Fran Tarkenton was the best ever, but Favre was a stud in his prime, so I'd have to go with him. The other two aint bad either. Peyton is still in his prime and id take Peyton, cause he will break every statistical record for a qb in football! tom brady is. manning he has more records and mvps at this point and hes still in his prime im a packers fan so i say favre and manning would both be great choices the only reason i choose favre in his prime not now is because he had one weapon and that was sterling sharpe. manning has wr depth chart that would have staters on most other teams down to the 3rd or 4th string. Manning could make and reciever look great sure but he still has times when he is not good. if you get enough pressure in his face will crack. not saying that favre is perfect when faced with pressure just to say that i think Manning is not as good under pressure. and i have seen Rodney Harrison make catches that no other reciever could even dream of catching including T.O. and Jerry Rice in his prime. for example did you see the catch he made in the endzone where the ball was THROWN unaccuratly so that it was several feet out of bounds but Harrison basicall laydown and stretched out while keeping both feet on the ground. i dont think any reciever could have caught that without all the pressue and pads. so Mannings stats are a little better than what he could acutally do. thats why i say favre. and one more thing about Manning is that when he had a problem in his life he played but did crapy for what he could do. but no, favre goes out and beats the crap out of a team that was pretty good at the time the day after his father dies. and for a sidenote his father is his source of encourage meant for him and losing him was a big loss. brady is way out of the picture he was only good when his offense made him good. no offense but they would have been better with sombody else. he does not have the ability to make plays when it matters like favre or manning did in their prime. and for all those people who talk crap on favre. shut up because i dont see you playing with a broken thumb. damb i dont even see you playing. and John elway was great after several years of playing while it took Favre, Manning, and Brady around 1 year to show that they could produce results even Brady is good from the beggining. |
