Was it a big mistake that ESPN took over Monday Night football?

2... It's awful.. Espically Tony Korny.... This is almost as bad as Dennis Miller who didn't know his *** from his elbow in football and they had him in there...

I didn't watch the opening of last weeks game, but I am told they spoke over the National Anthem. That's just classless.

I like Mike Tirico and Tony K. I am not a big fan of Jaws though. Everything he says sounds very rehearsed. I'm not a fan of any of his work on ESPN.

MNF isn't the best platform for Tony K., but he is much better than Dennis Miller. He is a sports guy. His radio show was the best I ever listened to.

They are terrible! (1) Tony Kornholer is the worst. He looks like a cancer patient and tries to be funny, like Dennis Miller, but not. I'd rather see John Madden do broadway than listen to Kornheiser talk sports.

Well - an improvement was needed. Another fine question is this - are all those ridiculous graphics and noises that plague every moment without live play really enhancing the experience? The commentators are only a part of the show... think about how great college football is to watch.... you can hear the whistles on the field- crunch of helmets etc.. in professional football there are whooshing sounds... dancing helmets and robots (very stupid) .... really- are football fans that juvenile to want/need that stuff.?

i see that a lot of people have already answered this and i agree with one inparticuler. dennis miller is the pits. but getting past that jerk, i would rate them at about a 3 as these guys just never shut up. it would be nice to watch a football game and have the commentators just commentate on what is going on, on the playing field and to hell with what went on in some dudes love life five years ago. if you have nothing to say then shut up.

yeah huge mistake football just sucks on espn for some reason the commentaors I probaly give them 4 thats just because of ron he decent in the booth tony is terrible and mikes voice is annoying after a while.

It is true, Emmitt Smith and Steve Young talked over the National Anthem, that was totally out of line. I fault the network too, but the announcers should have known better.

i like turico, but the other guys suck. i cannot stand kornheiser and his little stupid stories before every game. he always tried to relate the football game or a player to something or someone else in life. he is such a loser and i hope he never does it again

I really really hate Ron Jaworski. He was a second rate QB and he is a second rate commentator. He is, however, better than Theismann was last year. The thing I hate about Jaworski is that he always chimes in with some retarded opinion or stat no one cares about. If I wanted a second rate QB to tell me about what makes a good player I would ask Trent Dilfer. At least he won a Super Bowl. Kornheiser is just kind of out of place. He's good, when he talks about what he knows. Which isn't football. I like Tirico, he has class. Just as long as they don't stick Salisbury in there. Then I will watch basketball.
