If you're only looking to differentiate between the 4-3, nickel, and dime, try to count the number of linebackers in the game (1 for dime, 2 for nickel, 3 for 4-3). Also, if he comes out with five linemen, he will be more effective at stopping the run, while 3 linemen generally indicates a pass defense. Another thing I've noticed about video game defenses is that when one of the linebackers fakes like he's going to blitz pre-snap, he'll either blitz or drop back into a zone when the play starts. |

Set up good audibles to control his play calling. Set up specific plays for his dime, nickel, and 4-3 formations. you have to attack his weak point. if one side of the line is weak, attack it. also, sometimes, simplicity is the thing, if his defense is confusing you, run simple dives and Isos to just attack straight at his defense. pass plays that can beat any d are good too. go simple... i dont play much NCAA football but i do play Madden 24/7. |
