State of the State of Florida football?

Obviously, the Gators are on top. With a young coach and tons of talent, they might be there for the next 10 years.

So what happens to Miami and Florida State. The Orange Bowl is gone and the Canes have lost their swagger. Bowden also seems to have lost it.

Will South Florida become the next #2 in Fla. football some day? Can FSU and Miami regain their swagger? Will more FL recruits start leaving the state?

If the Gators pathetic season is "on top" Florida football is at a new low.
The Gators are VERY mediocre right now. They still have the most talent, but the league, as expected is catching up a bit with their offensive format. Tebow is now getting hit, and eventually, like the run and shoot, this offense will have that weakness exposed to a greater and greater degree.

Miami is sad. Just when things looked better, they absolutley crumbled last week. They are still not on the road to dominance.

USF is an up and comer, but they won't ever consistently be a dominant team. Actually, USF hurts everyone. With their rise Florida talent is spread even thinner, weakening everyone.

I'd rank them as follows:

UF -- WAY overrated this year, but still the best of the bunch
FSU -- still down, but clearly improving. Jimbo is a big plus.
USF -- never will be great, but on the rise
Miami -- ????

Even the Gators ain't much, I hate to tell you. The state of FL FB is PU.

all you have to do is look at recruiting to get your answer. even with down years fsu is fifth in the nation with miami following at a close 8th. With so much talent in the state, florida football will always be near the top, sure there will be down years, but Florida will never go away

South Florida (despite their struggles) is the emerging powerhouse of the state.

Florida should be the best for the forseeable future.

Don't forget about Florida Atlantic.....they're in the Sun Belt and are a developing program, but they are slowly improving.

not good in the southern half of the state it seems

USF has seen the peak of their glory.

i think its always been the big 3 -- florida, florida state, and miami.

i go to florida, and i can say that i think we are at the top, and will stay there. all you people that say we are "overrated"... i think that most of the "top" teams are this year. no one is really that good.

florida state sucks... their quarterbacks suck... and they will be killed by the gators next weekend.

miami is ehh, nothing special.

usf is not good... yea, they had a little winning streak, but they arent anything great.

in general though, florida is one of the top states in college football.

All I have to say is GO GATORS :)
