I'm an LSU fan, but I'm as confused by the #1 ranking as anyone. Sure, USC struggled mightily, but LSU was in SERIOUS trouble against Tulane and didn't really have control of the game until mid-way through the third.

It will all sort itself out, so it doesn't matter if your 1 or 21 right now...all that matters is where you finish.

Let's just admit everyone hates SC for the same reasons a lot of people hate Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio St, Oklahoma and Texas because they have a tradition of winning. No offense to LSU fans for the fact I got a free ride to LSU, USC, and Long Beach St to play baseball , I chose SC, but I sometimes wish I chose LSU for the fact they were much better at that time and I believe they won a national title during my 5 years 85-89. Goooooooooooooo Trojans
