Why are Ohio state, michigan, and notre dame and iowa always overrated in football?

They are freaking yankee jokes!! God I hate yankees and anyone not in Texas.

I don't know, it just doesn't make sense. Go Gators!!!!!

Because they always get all of the good players from all over the country. If they were to get so sad players they may not be as overrated because look at Texas they have some good talent but no great talent and they are not overrated

Well i hate you i think you think they are overated because people like you put down teams because they do better than your hometown team, so suck it up, it's just football, I live in Ohio and both the Football and Basketball team lost to Florida, but you know they are not overated they are just good, so they are only as overated as you want them to be and GO BUCKS

Well, when you consider their non-conference records against rated opponents, I would disagree with you. Michigan and Ohio State don't always win their bowl games, but they are almost always competitive. And if you are competitive in a big game, then you aren't over-rated.

How sad for you to hate most of the country you live in. Try therapy or religion. Something has got to help.

Peace

GO HAWKEYES!!!!!!

They are always overrated because of the scum in the yankee media north of the red river and east of the mississippi. If they did not exist Ohio state, michigan, and notre dame would never get to a BCS bowl. Everyone knows they had no business being in the BCS bowls last year.

Die yankees!! Go Horns!

I totally agree with you except for Iowa, and I don't know why.

Well, your illogical hatred for the rest of the country puts down your argument. I don't know that Iowa is overrated that much-they haven't been very good lately. As for OSU, it is overrated most years(but not vastly overrated)-they weren't the number one team in the country, Florida was, but they did beat Texas and everyone else on their schedule and they are very competitive most years. So, I don't know how one can be so hostile to the rankings that they get since they don't fail the expectations by much. Michigan and Notre Dame have been overrated recently i.e. Michigan's blowout loss to USC and Notre Dame's relatively weak schedule, but as much as I hate Michigan, they are competitive most years. Notre Dame just hasn't been as good as everyone has given them credit for. In my opinion, they should toughen their schedule and win some of their tougher games i.e. USC before being ranked so high. I think that since they have been traditional powerhouses in the past people want them to return to that status and give them too much credit today. OSU and Michigan have proven that they can win the vast majority of their games most years even if they aren't national contenders those years and they are almost always contenders for the Big Ten title(take from that what you will).

Ok, come on, for all those who don't think that OSU, Michigan, and Notre Dame are proven powerhouses or that they don't win many games or that they don't play contenders, look at the history, it doesn't lie, these teams are traditionally known as good if not great football teams. And for all those who don't believe in the legitimacy of the SEC or Florida, the past year should be evidence, they may not have the history but I think that the near future will give them more credit. They are good teams and get great recruits.

Finally, for all those who hate everything not Texas... I don't know what to say. Texas is big but it definitely isn't the whole U.S. and it's not the majority either. Perhaps a little therapy is in order? I don't know.

Actually, Mack Brown, it is done specifically to annoy you.

ha, they are not overrated! you kiddin me

Haha thanks for the good laugh. It never gets old people calling OSU and or Michigan overrated, considering that almost every year they do good and they still play eachother. Not many other school aside from maybe USC Notre Dame (not too recently) play against a national contender every single year.

Awww, your a longhorn are you jealous..........the Buckeyes are not overrated, take a look at their seasons!!!!!! Go Bucks!

To Ryan

So you're sayin that Florida doesn't play a national contender every single year? You gotta be kiddin me, this year we played LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, And Florida State. All these teams are seen as contenders every year. I dont know why you left them out.

To Buckeyefever

I honestly have to say. You have no reason to gloat over the Longhorn fan. I say the only time your team had a good team(to me) is when OSU had Maurice Clarett. Now, yea, your team is overrated. We didnt win many championships but were makin up for it now...But we've always had a winning season. We've been doin it for a long time...You know what team I'm talkin bout...Chomp, Chomp, Chomp...Go Gators!

I can answer that question with one word-politics.

I do not understand how you can say Ohio State was underrated. The records speak for themselves. O.S.U. undefeated until the championship game. What was Texas' record? I know they had at least one loss. Who beat them? Wasn't it them overrated Buckeyes? Beat them on there home turf?

First off, I'm going to say, you and your hick ways are idiotic. You need to come into this day and age.

Second, I'm pretty sure I myself could tear up you precious Texas linebackers...Did i forget to mention that i have offers to Michigan, Hawaii, Boise State, Tennessee, Ohio State, and several other universitys? Oh and I'll add that one of the others is indeed Texas.

Michigan is most certainly never over rated, they never have poor seasons meaning they always deserve top 15. Ohio State played and dominated the country's top opponents and won until the NC. They weren't over rated last season but have been for the past couple years before that. Iowa is mediocre, why are you complaining? They deserve top 25 and thats what they get, barely. Notre Dame is indeed over rated, and I'm from Indiana. They only play two true football teams all season in Michigan and USC. No one else. They shouldn't be ranks 25 because they play no one besides them and get their butts kicked.

Now where do I begin about Texas football? Several high schools in America could beat the Longhorns. Now THEY are mediocre. They don't play top universities. So before you try to fly your colors... check your stats and your schedule.

And... if I may restate: Get over your idiotic hickness and come join this day and age.. it's so much better. The South will never rise again, so don't keep saying that either.

Because they are who they are. I guarantee you that Louisville, Boise State, USC, and possibly LSU could have beaten Ohio State. Notre Dame sucks, but no one will admit it because they are Notre Dame. Look at it this way: The teams that Ohio State beat? Michigan, and Wisconsin. The good teams that Michigan beat? Notre Dame. The teams that Notre Dame beat? Penn State? The records of the teams are all relative.

because they look good beating up the slow country boys that come from the midwest. but once they play teams with players from other parts of the country...they get blown out.
