| Why didn't the Navy-Notre Dame game end in a tie instead of going for three overtimes? |

And how can a college football game end in a tie otherwise? |

I don't believe a college football game can end in a tie, but I could be wrong. |

I didn't want to see a tie, I wanted to see them lose!! college dont like ties that hurts the rankings not that it matters here! they eliminated ties in college football about 10 years ago and lazy there is no maximum overtimes College football games can't end in a tie. They keep playing overtimes until someone wins. I am not sure exactly when but college football changed that format several years ago with "sudden death" overtime. If the score is still tied after the 2nd OT and you happen to score a TD in the 3rd OT, that team must go for a 2 point conversion. The funny thing about this format is if the games get this far in OT, the scores are generally in the 40's &50's, sometimes 60's.. It did not end in a tie because the NCAA installed an overtime system ten years ago. There has not been a tie in college football since 1996 that I am aware of. ties are a thing in the past, now with their overtime rules, they go until one wins, theres been alot of games go to the 6th ot i think thats been the most there was one a couple weeks back that went to 6, but ties will screw up the already screwed up computors they couldnt handle that data |
