That is an unsubstantiated claim. Define toughest conference. You can't use conference schedule,, conference games are a wash 1 win/1 loss. Non Conference The SEC has played as many midmajors as all the other conferences. and fewer other BCS conference opponents. (I compared schedules).

Your right, if they played LSU's schedule they wouldn't be in the top 5. LSU should be #1. I'm an ACC fan but I still know that the SEC is the toughest conference. I'm tired of you Ohio state fans thinking they deserve #1 just because they've beaten their sorry opponents.

Ya right here are the facts!!!!

1) For the most recent five bowl seasons, the Big Ten is 8-6 head to head against the SEC. And even last year 鈥?despite Ohio State鈥檚 one-game debacle - the B-10 was 2-1 with Wisconsin beating Arkansas and Penn State taking out Tennessee.

2) Two years ago in the bowls, Florida scraped by Iowa and Wisconsin creamed Auburn.

3) Want to go back three bowl seasons? Well, that鈥檚 the year that LSU lost to Iowa and Alabama lost to Minnesota; Georgia did beat Wisconsin. And the two years before that? The leagues split six games鈥?

4) So, the SEC's record in bowl games during these past five years is 20-15. Huge disparity? I don鈥檛 think so鈥?

Too bad the mighty Ohio State Buckeyes couldn't schedule the mighty Appalachian State University Mountaineers. Oops, I forgot that didn't work out too well for another Big 10 powerhouse (you have to excuse me, I was stifling a laugh). The Big 10 were not playing the top of the heap SEC teams in those bowls. But I am glad you actually did try to do your homework this time. Hopefully you did the same at OSU. Also the Buckeyes can get to the NC game.
