why would their stadium be a buckeye? A stadium in that shape wouldn't even be possible. A buckeye is a useless nut. At least a horseshoe is useful and is a symbol of good luck. HI...check out www.exoticsmokes.com When the stadium was built (back in the twenties) and it was designed in the shape of a "U" (which people just started calling the "Horse Shoe"). Since then they have added additional seating (as a straight line across to fill in the U) but OSU fans are big in to their history, so the name "Horse Shoe" was not going away. The official name of Ohio's home is Ohio Stadium. It's nicknamed "The Horseshoe" because it's original configuration was a horseshoe; a bowl opened at one end. During the many renovations over the years however, it has since been closed in. But design has allowed it to retain a horseshoe shape, and tradition is big in college football, so... That's the last impression we want to leave the opposing team after we stomp a horseshoe in their A-s-s!! What the hell is a Buckeye, anyway? (yes, I know that they are the auburn tigers and their fight song is war eagle. but everyone knows what a tiger is, don't they) |
