GAME 1: They lost by 6 (at a nuetral site) to a Missouri team that's currently 4-0. Also, Juice Williams (Illinois' starting QB) was injured for most of the game.

GAME 2: They shut out Division I-AA Western Illinois.

GAME 3: 41-20 win over Syracuse. (The Orange would go on to score an upset at Louisville in their next game)

GAME 4: 27-14 win at Indiana. That loss is Indiana's only loss so far this season!

GAME 5: 27-20 win over No. 21 Penn State.

I think Illinois will be rank next week after they beat the overrated Wisconsin Badgers. They have the Badgers at home, so i think the Fighting Illinois will pull the upset at home, Wisconsin been overrated and should have lost at least i game to UNLV already. My upset special of the week is Illinois over the overrated Badgers.

They got votes just not enough... do you count syracuse, western illinois and indiana as teams there only half decent win was Penn State... but alot of people figured that team would win... If they win next week I think they will be ranked.

I think they should, but when you're a perennial bottom-feeder in the Big 10+1, you've got to do a little more than everyone else to get respect. I'm not saying it's right or fair, but that's just the way it is.

Other than Penn St, they have not beat anybody ranked. Beat Wisconsin and you sure will be.

They aren't ranked because a computer does the rankings based on silly trivial statistics like, "3rd down conversion percentage at home" and, "Red zone percentage on the road". It's a ranking system so messed up, that it should be blown up and started from scratch.

They arent ranked because they are in a weak Big 10. Big 10 is really down this year. They also are not ranked because they are Illinois. They have been pretty pathetic for a while. If they were a traditional Big 10 powerhouse they would be in the top 25 for sure.

Game 5: Penn State was overrated at the beginning of the season and they will prove it from here out in the rest of the Big 10 conference.

Illinois has a lot to prove still. Even if they beat the Badgers, that means nothing. They have been the most overrated, under talked about team in the nation. They looked shaky playing Citadel.

One loss teams rarely break into the top 25 this early into the year. This one loss team is Illinois, who beat Syracuse, Indiana and a lackluster Penn St team. If they beat Wisconsin this weekend, more than likely they will be ranked, it may be near the bottom of the 25 though.

The are 2-0 in conference and 4-1 overall. They have only collected 59 points in the AP poll, most based on strength of schedule.
