| Big Ten haters, why did the Big Ten have a 2-1 record vs. SEC teams in bowls last year? |

OK, UF beat OSU in the big game but PSU beat Tennesee and Wisky beat Arkansas. SEC is not the apotheosis of great football, contrary to what the media will have you believe. In fact, Penn State has made a habit of stomping SEC teams in bowl games in the past 15 years. LOL. Maybe nobody can run the table in the SEC because the teams are mediocre. 1-2 vs. Big Ten in bowl games. |

I agree with you. Same arguments I make, along with the fact that at least half of the Big 10 won their bowl games, which is better than what went down in other conferences. I get tired of people putting down the Big 10 and blowing out of proportion the SEC and the Pac 10. No doubt, both conferences have strong teams, many of which could beat most of the Big 10 any time. But then there are teams in the Big 10 that could beat teams in the SEC and Pac 10. The fact that Michigan and OSU lost their bowl games badly doesn't say anything about how the SEC stacks up against the Big 10 as a whole, since you're merely talking about two teams, and it doesn't say anything about how Florida and USC would play Michigan and OSU every other time they play. If that were the case, Stanford could beat USC every single time they play. You still can't beat that Michigan has the best record in college football history, nor that the Big 10 has the best mix of athletics in football and academics than any other conference. I mean...I'm from the South, attended Tennessee for a year in college, and I know really well that those schools don't give a sh!t about academics, with the exception of Vanderbilt--and you see how sorry they are in football. Of course you play tough football when you don't have to worry about any classes and have all the time in the world to just practice for games. Football is why those southern universities exist. But OSU and Michigan can still win the majority of their games while getting strong educations. |

Are you kidding me? Put any of those Big Ten teams in the SEC and see how they do. The SEC is the best conference in college football. why did michigan and ohio state get blown out and pasted? did an SEC team get blown out or pasted? maybe wisconsin was the best team in the big ten they matched up with arkansas. did ARK and Tenn get completely embarrassed? like ohio state and michigan? what would have happened if LSU had played Michigan? 2-2 with another blow out or pasting whatever you wish to call it. Sorry! Got nothing against the Big 10, but the SEC is the toughest football conference. I agree with the media and football experts on that one. gherd your an idiot since when is a 14-28 loss a blowout. OSU got blown out but not Michigan. get your facts straight or get some common sense. SEC teams are in no way mediocre. They lose against one another because they are all so talented. Look at Kentucky. One year, they are pathetic, the next they're beating LSU! The big ten is 8-6 in bowl games over the last 5 years. THe only team that has a problem with the SEC out of the big ten is OSU. The SEC has their number, my guess is because the bucks are the fastest team in the big ten, and they out run everyone, but when they play the SEC, they can't out run them, and don't use their size. |
