Is the PAC 10 the most well rounded college football conference?

If you consider academics (with Stanford, Cal, UCLA and USC), football (USC - kinda off this year, Cal, Oregon and ASU), tradition (USC - ND, USC - UCLA, Cal - Stanford etc.) and even basketball (by far the best conference for the past 2 years - not that I care too much about basketball right now), it is all about the PAC10.

Opinions?

With out a doubt. I give the SEC the edge in football as a power conference, but if you are looking at those 3 scenarios you would be hard pressed to find another confernece like this one.

I'd say the SEC is the most well rounded of the conferences.

There aren't a lot of GREAT teams in the league this year, but the parity is amazing. 10 teams are bowl eligible and Vanderbilt is one win away from making it 11. That doesn't happen very often in a 12 team league.

The Pac-10 is making great strides as a league.

That is a really hard question. As far as major conferences go, academics may have to go to the ACC. Duke, Virginia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina. These are no slouch schools. Their football, this year, is not very good, granted. But traditionally they are so rich in basketball. Tough call.

HELL NO ! THE P_ ssy *** Conference 10 sucks

I hate to bust your bubble but "The Sporting News" just released the list of the top conferences in America for 2007. The list is as follows:
1. SEC
2. ACC
3. Big12
4. PAC 10
5. Big10
6. Mountain West
7. Big East
8. Mid American
9. WAC
10. Sun Belt

Academics...OK. Tradition, I'll give you that. Football...sometimes. Basketball...NO

The problem with the Pac 10 is the demographics.

Liberal West Coast Democrats who support welfare for illegal immigrants while also supporting tax cuts for the rich, thus eliminating themselves from footing the bill for welfare and putting the burden on the shoulders of middle class Americans who chose to work for barely more than welfare wages and support the friggin illegals whe acquire benefits for themselves and their families while working under the table to send cash to Mexico so that more illegals can cross the border and suck America dry.

Football-big XII Basketball-ACC Academics-Pac-10

i would hav 2 agree. other then the big 10 (GO BUCKEYES!!!) the pac 10 is my favorite confercne. they hav a lot of great universities w/ rich tradition. n their teams r stackin up to those of any other conference, top to bottom i think they may b the best conference in college football this year

I thoroughly enjoy the way no one is answering your question. "Hey, what about the conference my name clearly suggests I like!!!", "Some list just came out that deals only with football, eat it", "You suck!!!" = brilliant.

I will now follow suit.

No, the conference is actually shaped more like an "L". The Big12 is shaped a lot like an "T". The SEC is actually more ovalish, though lopsided. Ummm, I suppose you could say the ACC is kind of round, assuming you circled a lot of ocean for no reason.

I think the Big 10 might challenge you.
Good schools - Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan are as good as any
Recent success - played for the national championship in the two sports that matter last year and had two teams in the top five in football and basketball all last year.
Tradition - The PAC-10 isn't even in the same league
(and I say this living in the South)

Try the SEC
Acedemics you have Stanford, we have Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt would kill Stanford in football

Football - 10 bowl bound teams, LSU #1, UF, Aub, UT, Georgia, Bama, Arkansas, Kentucky, all ranked at one time this season,

Tradition - the Tennessee entrance, the Vol walk, the Vol Navy, SC coming out to the 2001 theme, Bulldogs between the hedges, Bama-Auburn, the Swamp, Baton Rouge at night, etc.

Basketball - UF won the last two national titles, kentucky, Tennessee has a great team, and the women are known for having the best conference year in/year out. BTW, UT has 7 national titles

Any questions?

I would say it is up there.. But the Big 10 would be up top as well.
Big 10 has 10 of 11 schools bowl eligble same as the SEC (sorry we have 1 less total).

Has several teams in top 10 perennially (a little lower this year,as they have 6 with 3 or less losses so dragged each other down in the rankings. (3 at end of last year) 2 in top 5

Good academics...
Played (yes and lost to UF) for Basketball and Football championships last year. And had several high ranked b-ball teams as well.
So not sure where you get Pac10 as by far the best the last 2 years.

Yes, rounded, like a big zero....O

No, no...it's really not all about the PAC 10.
Opinion? You really don't want to know.
