To all of the Michigan bashers out there...?

How can anyone completely dismiss Michigan? The explanations Ive seen here are completely without merit.
1) Michigan had their shot - ok, so since when was the national title game played at Buckeye stadium? Is the national title game not supposed to be played on neutral ground? Also, by that logic, USC had their shot against Oregon St. By the way, who won that game?
2)Michigan is tied for second in their conference - By whose measure? Yes they and Wisconsin have the same number of Big 10 losses, but Michigan has the heads up. Also, any team in the nation would be 2nd if they played in the Big 10.
3)USC has higher quality wins - really? It is impressive that USC beat Arkansas(without a healthy McFadden)(8), Cal(21), and ND(12), but I think that Michigan's wins over ND(12), Winsconsin(7), and Penn St(27)are very comparable.
I'm not trying to argue against USC, I think that they are a strong team and deserve a shot. I am simply arguing against those who say that Michigan doesn't.

I think it may also be useful to examine quality of losses. Michigan lost by 3 at Ohio St.
USC lost to Oregon St.
Again, I am not arguing against the merits of USC. My argument is for a more fair system(ie a playoff) where legitimate teams (Ohio St, Michigan, USC, Florida) get a legitimate shot.

your comments only show the need for a true playoffs in college football....it doesnt take much to pick the four top teams and let the winner play in semifinal bowl games chosen by the bcs and then a championdship game for the winners of those games...it always leaves a bad taste when writers and pundits get to pick a national champion when it should be done and decided in the field

Michigan lost late in the year, this is HUGE among voters. Also they had their shot against Ohio State and USC has not. Oh and third Ohio State owns Glendale, Arizona so it wouldn't be nuetral ground either.

My argument against Michigan is that if you look at the numbers they were MASSIVELY outplayed in the Ohio state game. They got a number of lucky bounces (or good plays that's not the argument) and won the turnover battle by a large margin and STILL couldn't overcome Ohio St. If Ohio St. had taken better care of the ball that game could've been ugly. TO answer one of your other points, yeah USC lost to Oregon st who is certainly no Ohio St. but you know as well as I do that an old loss smells not as bad as a new loss. You're much better off losing the first game of the year not the last even though your record would be the same.

All that being said I feel about Michigan the same way you feel about USC, they're certainly a worthy team and I think a rematch would be a heck of a game, I just think USC deserves it a hair more.

I agree.
I believe they are the 2 best teams in College Football and their game was a great game to watch. So why wouldn't anyone want to watch another great football game? People tend to like the mismatched games so they can see a blowout... I on the other hand like to see good games.. But with that said, USC will play Ohio State as long as they win their last game... If they lose, then I believe we will see another great game between the buckeyes and the wolverines.

Typical Michigan fan... always whining about why you lost or why you didn't get ranked as high as you feel you should.

If UofM were as good as their fans boast about, then they should be winning by margins great enough to leave no question as to the quality of the team and who should be ranked higher.

Accept it, you lost and you aren't ranked well which is a direct result of the abilities of the team. There are more important things in the world than UofM football. ...or anything UofM for that matter. Move on with your life.

Easy, Ohio State played a crappy game and still won.
Yes, Michigan had their chance and No they shouldn't get another shot.
If they don't want to play OSU during the season, than get the hell out of the Big 10.
Oh by the way, Cooper is gone and Tressel is now in charge. So it don't matter where we play.

OK first off we are simply getting tired of the WHINING by the Michigan fans who can't accept they lost
1.) Blame ABC they promoted it as Judgement Day and made a big issue of it and promoted if for like a WEEK on ESPN and ABC. Oh and USC had their chance against Oregon St. no doubt, but um I don't think they plan to play a Bowl game AGAINST Oregon St.
2.)Although Michigan WON the Head-to-Head they are STILL tied. All that head-to-head means is that Michigan gets ahead in that standing. It doesn't make Wisconsin third. It means they are tied for Second with Wisconsin below Michigan. Oh and that ANY team would be if they played in the Big Ten you JUST said that Michigan would lose a rematch. You just said OSU is SO good no one can beat them. Might not be how you meant it but you really said it.
3. The Quality wins and you are comparing CURRENT standings not where they were when the teams played. Oh and USC WON THEIR DIVISION. Yeah I know blah blah blah only one team can win the Big 10, BUT Michigan had the chance to beat the OSU and win the Big 10. Then you whiney Michigan people wouldn't have anything to whine about
Another thing Yes Michigan lost by 3 BUT USC lost by a FAILED TWO POINT CONVERSION.

Michigans wins over Wisconsin and Penn St. are not comparable to USC's wins over Cal and Arkansas....Wisconsin hasnt beaten anyone all year! good thing they finished the season by playing buffalo too, what a joke, and if Wisc played Ohio St., they would be a 2 loss team! And Penn St. isnt that great...ND crushed them, and Mich and USC crushed ND!

I would take USC crushing a mcfaddenless arkansas, over michigan barley beating an overrated Wisconsin team who only beat up the @ss of the big 10 and buffalo.

GO AND GET YOURSELF A PACIFIER.
