| Why are people maing such a big deal about Reggie Bush family receiving gifts while playing at USC? |
|
It's stupid to me |

I agree. Nothing like a nice shiny b.s. news item to deflect the US intellect off truely important matters, such as crimes against humanity. |

They gave him over 100,000 dollars. That's no small amount money, and they didn't really even try to hide it. Basically, it made Bush a professional athlete. If you think there is no problem with professional athletes in college, then fine. Because it is. If he received the money, or anything for that matter, he is a professional athlete, waiving every single game that USC played last year, meaning they forfeit because reggie is greedy. USC will be ranked dead last for having a started that was a professional athlete. Well I like Reggie Bush , this is coming from an Ohio State fan ! but it is alot more than just his family receiving gifts , they have signed receipts from Reggie from Vegas from hotel rooms he did not pay for , also a car he drove around in his last year is in question and there are many other things that now they have rock solid proof of , and the sad thing about it is that if he lied about it what kind of character does that show , I played college ball and they go over these things with you all the time especially in the larger programs you know when something is a rule violation or not , If it is all true which it seems now that it is I don't feel sorry for him especially if he lied, he should get what he or the school deserves . you mean why are people upset that he was cheating and being bribed and stuff? hmmmm, not sure, it's something to do with the fact that he is supposed to be an amateur. that means that he is supposed to be playing in return for his scholarship and he IS NOT supposed to be getting lots of free handouts from agents. yes, this is way stupid! whether or not the bush family received anything, it does not take away anything regarding reggie's talent or USC's dominating team. because it's big time illegal, that's why. SMU had their whole football program wiped out for several years because their players were being paid to play. this is different, but still similar. its against the rules and he will lose his heisman and records and USC will be on probation or worse, granted it is a worthless topic, but still, very important 1. It's against NCAA rules It's because he was bought off. Sold to the highest bidder. The NCAA doesn't allow it. If it wasn't against the rules, the school with the deepest pockets & richest alumni would always rule the roost. it's a big deal because now the rule infractions will apply to the university more than it will apply to Bush himself. Since these findings will strip him of his trophy and not affect his professional contract he'll probably get over it pretty quick. The university, however, could face fines and probation. I remeber years ago there was something with UNLV and the basketball program. They had a good chance of winning the NCAA tourney, but couldn't actually win because they were on probation. This behavior cheapens an athletic program because it boils down to who has the most money. |
