As an LSU fan it is hard for me to say this but they are amazing at recruiting. 10 5 star running backs including Joe McKnight who they stole from LSU.

When they started cheating and paying players to come there! I can't believe the NCAA hasn't yet given them the death penalty over the Reggie Bush situation. I guess all that Hollywood money has bought them off!

USC has a reputation to uphold. That's why they always have a great recruiting class coming in every year. I always see them as "Hollywoods" team.

Mitch Mustaine.. he had a starting job.. SEC school.. gauranteed TV time.. and playing on a team that went to the SEC Championship game last year.. a change in coaches and he quickly bolts to USC. where he's buried on the depth chart.. won't see the field for more than 1 season (if that).. loses a season of availability... the question is.. why give up the chance to be a star for years then go pro to sit the bench and take a chance on that pro prospect?

and they let agents pay Reggie Bush

to the guy at the bottom saying there's no evidence.. there's even USC coaches testifying against USC to the NCAA that there were agents all over the place and that everyone even univerisity staff knew it.. they have receipts for stuff paid for and given to Bush.. and they have it all on TAPE.. c'mon take off the tinted glasses and be objective a second

When a school has a winning season, it's easier to recruit the top HS players. It becomes a cycle. These schools become powerhouses for a generation or so until the recruits realize they have a better chance for PT at smaller schools with fewer top recruits.

It's happened at Texas and USC and several other schools.

Stonewall Jackson every time you open your mouth, theirs always negative about USC and cheating, are you so bend on talking about cheating at USC or what. If USC cheat like you say the NCAA would come down with sanction already. There is not enough evident to support the cheating theory, so come off already kid, be smart, don't just yelled cheat. Your just an ignorant little kid if you keep talking about it, and their no truth to it, if their is, the NCAA sanction for sure to follow USC. Plus Jackson your just jealous cause your team is not mention as much as USC. Everything start and end with USC on this site, deal with it.

USC has one of the best, if not THE BEST recruiting class on the West Coast every year. I still wouldn't say they are "so good", I will say that they are just good. The PAC-10 is a mediocre conference, with about 3 other teams being "somewhat good" every 3-4 years. Position the Trojans of USC in the ACC or the SEC for a few seasons, and this question wouldn't even exist.

I think for the last 5-6 years, they've had a top 5 recruiting class in the nation.This year will be tougher since they lost Jarret and their offensive cordinator

Because they recruit the best players from the west since theyre the only good team past the state of Texas. Notice how just about 95 percent of the teams in the top 25 this year are East of the Mississippi, and they all have competition in recruiting, unlike USC.

Also because Pete Carroll is a great coach, but if he didnt have the luxury to recruit any player he wanted, I dont know how good hed be.
