How was usc able to beat michigan so badly?

this does not make sense. usc was the underdog in this one.

USC and Pete Carroll totally outcoached Lloyd Carr and company. The Trojans thoroughly beat the Wolverines secondary which is their weakness (They were #1 against the run). Lloyd Carr kept running the ball on first and second down all the way into late in the third quarter. That was totally stupid.

I haven't seen a much better game plan both offensively and defensively as USC put out there today. They were dominant-and it all began with superb coaching and a fabulous game plan.

I give credit to USC because they kept it coming and were playing to win. They never sat on the ball until Michigan surrendered with a punt when they were down 32-11. Congratulations to the superior Trojans.

USC is a much better team than they were given credit for.

DEFENSE!!!
how about 5 sacks in 2 quarters??? that is unheard of for the michigan team.

It was the typical ( Big Ten team from the midwest goes out to the big city and forgets to bring the game with them).

Michigan would have been beaten by Boise State today.

But USC played a great game.

Michigan sucks!

yeahh they were. USC BABEE FOR LIFEE. heyy its all about DWAYNE JARRETT AND JOHN DAVID BOOTY! that and the whole usc team is ur answer.

Two Words - Lloyd Carr

It was obvious from the playoff games that Michigan was not the team it usually is, and they were matched. Many people are having a hard time handling that Michigan is not in the playoffs for the championship, but it shows up when they are matched with a team from across the US.

because USC was more prepared for this game than Michigan saw what they did wrong against UCLA and fixed it.

Was Michigan reported to have a pre-game pep talk with the Lions? That probably did 'em in.

Michigan should've played Ohio State the cowards!!!!! GO BLUE BABY!!!!

USC was coming off a bad loss and had something to prove. Michigan was complaining about not playing Ohio State again and lost focus on the game. USC also had all of their big playmakers making very big plays throughout the game. Then you can look at the USC defence who was killing Michigan's offense the whole game.

USC is a good team and has always been, they just didnt get credit for their efforts this year. Im glad to see the underdog pull out in this one!

More talent.

UCLA beat USC by putting pressure on the quarterback. Michigan played a prevent defense which is the worst thing you can do against USC. On the offensive side, Michigan stuck to the run when passing was working better. So basically, Michigan lost due to bad coaching, on both sides of the ball.

USC played great. Their defense held them in there in the 1st half. In the and half, their defense continued to play great and they really made fantastic adjustments on offense: passing a lot more.

Llllloyd Carr= Horrible big game coach
Pete Carroll= Enthusiastic, well prepared big game coach. Never thought I'd say well coached and Pete Carroll in the same sentence. All he has to do is bring in the top H.S. talent to L.A. and then turn them loose.

my background: a big usc fan, and ive been watching college football (mainly usc) for the last 10 years, i was also at the rose bowl

michigan has more talent than usc does, however, usc put tons of pressure on the michigan qb, forcing him to make quick passes, or get sacked (this was also due to the michigan play calling of longer passes. you have to remember tho, the game was 3-3 going into the half, usc totally abandoned their running game, and went through the air, using their 2 best offensive players together (booty and jarret) with some smith mixed in :]

usc scored fast in the second half after punting the ball away on their first drive, giving usc all the momentum, and from there it was usc football all the way. passes, passes, and more passes, dwayne jarret was acting like vince young of last year, running all over the michigan players. michigan could just not get to booty, and not defend against the long pass (even in good coverage, double coverage jarret was still catching balls)

for the last 3 years, usc has been a second half team, this game was no different.

Cause michigan are overrated and they suck
