| Why is Virginia ranked in the coaches poll and Tennessee not? |
|
Virginia has lost to Utah (11-18), Miami (11-19), and Wake Forest (14-15). All horrible teams. The only game Tennessee lost to a team with a losing record is South Carolina (14-15). Tennessee has beat more ranked teams, lost to better teams, and also has more wins. Tennessee lost three games while Lofton was hurt. Why does Tennessee not get the respect from all the coaches in the country outside of the SEC? Does anyone agree with me? If not, explain. Im sorry, I thought I put this in the basketball section of QandA. I didnt mean for it to be in the football section. |

I agree completely. Tennessee was undefeated at home this year, and that's amazing with their home schedule. They played with heart, coming from behind to beat Texas and Oklahoma State, and they completely dominated Florida (up by 27 at one point). Tennessee does not get the respect it deserves because it is not historically a "men's basketball" school. Bruce Pearl took us to the NCAA tournament last year with a 2 seed, and I honestly think this team is better than last year. |

no clue Its a coaches poll. Its opinionated. The coach votes for whomever he feels like. He can vote for a team for #1 without a win if i he so chooses. But most don't. the first up to date ratings poll i came to had tennessee ranked #7 At this time of year, it doesn't matter what the coaches think. Virginia is 20-9, 11-5 in the conference and shares the ACC regular season title with UNC and is the 2 seed in the conference tourney. Plays in the toughest conference in Basketball this season ACC. Tennesee is 22-9, 10-6 in the conference, and is a 3 seed in the SEC tourney. |
